RIYADH: Ƶ intercepted Friday a ballistic missile launched by Houthi militias in the direction of Jazan, according to the coalition battling them in neighboring Yemen.
Ƶ’s air defenses intercepted the ballistic missile that was launched by Houthi militias from Yemen’s Saadah governorate. The missile was fired at Jazan but was intercepted.
Coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said that the missile was fired towards Jazan in Ƶ and aimed to target areas populated by civilians.
Earlier on in the week, two ballistic missiles were fired at the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Al-Maliki blamed the attack on “militiamen and terrorists, vassals of Iran” who try to “threaten the security of Ƶ, the region and the world.”
